Students at the Amherst-Area Employers Internship Fair and Arts & Humanities Internship Fair at UMass on September 5, 2025.

The Campus Center Auditorium was packed for this fall’s Internship Fair, where more than 1,000 UMass Amherst students came to connect with employers.

This event is part of the university’s career development programming and was co-ordinated in partnership with the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce.

The fair gives students a chance to learn about internships in fields ranging from tech and finance to education, nonprofits, and local government.

Employers from across Massachusetts attended, but organizations with a strong presence in Western Mass were in the majority. Opportunities in the Pioneer Valley continue to be an important draw for students looking to stay close to Amherst after graduation.

The Internship Fair is one of several major recruiting events at UMass each year. Students are encouraged to prepare by updating their resumes, practicing introductions, and researching employers ahead of time.
