If you lost your item off-campus, there are several public services that can help.
Pioneer Valley Transit
Authority (PVTA) Buses
Items left on a PVTA bus in the Amherst area are handled by UMass Transit Services.
Location: UMass Transit, 185 Holdsworth Way, Amherst, MA 01003.
Phone: (413) 545-0056.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Policy: According to the PVTA Lost and Found Policy, items are held for 15 days. Items lost on a Friday or weekend may not be available until the following Monday.
Amherst Public
Libraries
For items lost at the Jones Library or its branches, it’s best to contact them directly.
For library materials, patrons are charged replacement fees for lost or damaged items, which can be paid in person or online.
Amherst Police Department
For items lost in public areas around the Town of Amherst, the Amherst Police Department may be able to help. They are located at 111 Main St. and their non-emergency number is (413) 259-3000.
