UMass Geology Professor Michael Williams will give a presentation at the Pelham Library, 2 South Valley Road, Pelham, MA, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The talk will explore how the rocks of Pelham originated thousands of miles away, forming the roots of a Himalayan-scale mountain belt.
Following the presentation, participants will carpool to local field sites to see examples of Pelham’s geology and evidence of the town’s dynamic history. The event is co-sponsored by the Pelham Historical Society and the Pelham Library.
