UMass alum, Juliana Lorraine Ryan (Class of 2023), has signed with Matera Città dei Sassi Women in Italy.
The club announced Ryan’s signing today.
The American-Argentine defender/forward hails from Staten Island, N.Y.
After four standout years with the University of Massachusetts Minutewomen, where she started nearly every match and earned Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team and CSC Academic All-District honors, Ryan continued her development in the USLW League with Morris Elite and TLH Reckoning.
Her move to Matera marks not only her first professional contract in Europe but also a new chapter for a player who grew her game in Amherst and now takes that experience to the international stage.
