The Amherst Fire Department will host its annual Open House on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Central Fire Station, 68 N Pleasant St, Amherst. The event is free and open to all ages. Activities include meeting firefighters, touring fire engines and ambulances, photo opportunities with Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey Bear, equipment displays, and a live fire safety demonstration at 12:00 p.m. The Open House coincides with National Fire Prevention Week and provides residents with practical safety information.
