Athletics Programs Reduced or Eliminated Due to Override Vote Failure
The recent override vote did not pass, leaving South Hadley Public Schools facing significant financial shortfalls for FY27. As a result, athletic programs — along with other academic and extracurricular opportunities — have been reduced or eliminated at both the high school and middle school levels.
Community-Led Effort to Sustain Sports for FY27 and Beyond
Friends of South Hadley Athletics is a community-led group of parents, alumni, and local supporters committed to sustaining and strengthening athletic opportunities. While a proposal to support the FY27 school budget is under consideration and must be approved at Town Meeting, it would be a one-year solution. Long-term funding remains uncertain for FY28 and beyond. The group is raising funds to ensure short-term stability and build a more sustainable future.
