Opening of TownePlace Suites Hadley Amherst is realization of American dream for Parmar family

Shardool Parmar, President of the Pioneer Valley Hotel Group (center), speaks at the grand opening of TownePlace Suites Hadley Amherst.

The ceremony, held on May 29, 2025, marked the official opening of the 77-room extended-stay hotel located at 237 Russell Street in Hadley, Massachusetts. This property is the first Marriott extended-stay hotel in Hampshire and Franklin Counties, offering amenities such as fully equipped kitchens, complimentary breakfast, an indoor pool, and a fitness center.

TownePlace Suites Hadley Amherst is part of the Pioneer Valley Hotel Group‘s portfolio, a family-owned and operated hotel management company that owns five hotels in the Pioneer Valley area. The group is owned by the Parmar family, who have been in the hotel business for over thirty years.

During his presentation, Parmar pointed to a framed photo of an old inn that once stood on the same spot, recalling how he and his brother knew it growing up in Hadley. Just a few feet from that Inn was the home where they grew up. “This is like coming home,” he said. “It is our realization of the American dream.”

The hotel’s location on Route 9 provides convenient access to nearby attractions, including the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Amherst College, and the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.

One last thing: Because we like to support local businesses, we’ll just state here that the catering for this event was provided by Union Station Banquets of Northampton. One word. Delicious.
