Odyssey Bookshop will host musician and writer Roddy Bottum for a talk on his memoir, The Royal We, on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 7 PM. Bottum will be joined in conversation by Andrea Lawlor. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will focus on The Royal We, which recounts Bottum’s coming of age and coming out in 1980s San Francisco, along with his path into music, including forming Faith No More. The event includes a moderated conversation with Lawlor.
Roddy Bottum is a founding member of Faith No More and a co-founder of Imperial Teen. Andrea Lawlor is the author of Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl and teaches creative writing at Mount Holyoke College.
