The Leverett Library will host a Ukrainian Egg Painting Workshop: The Art of Pysanky for Adults on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Leverett Library. This free workshop is open to adults interested in learning the traditional Pysanky technique, which involves drawing wax lines on eggs and layering dyes to create detailed designs. Participants will create their own decorated egg to take home. The session will be led by crafter Celeste Langlois, who will also share background on Ukrainian, Polish, Slovakian, and Russian history and folklore connected to the art form, including the meanings behind common colors and patterns. All materials will be provided. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Leverett Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
