One-Week Summer Camp for Grades 6-8
The Amherst and University of Massachusetts Police Departments will host the Youth Adventure Academy from Monday, July 27, to Friday, July 31, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM daily. The free program is open to students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grades. The academy features classroom instruction on law, crime scene investigation, defensive tactics, and patrol procedures, as well as team building at the Amherst Adventure Based Ropes Course. Lunch will be provided at UMass Dining.
Limited to 20 Participants – Apply by July 1
The academy is limited to 20 participants. Preference will be given to Amherst residents and UMass-affiliated families who have not previously attended, but all are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is July 1, 2026.
