Permit Year Runs July 1 – June 30
The Town of Amherst Inspection Services reminds all residential rental property owners that current Rental Permits expire on June 30, 2026. Renewals must be submitted by June 15, 2026, to avoid a late fee. Renewals received after June 15 will incur a late fee equal to the initial fee, charged on June 16 and monthly thereafter until received.
How to Renew – Online Permit Portal
To renew, visit the online Permit Portal, click “My Account,” and follow the link to renew your previous permit. Review and confirm information accuracy. If there are changes (property owner, contact info, number of units rented), contact Inspection Services at 413-259-3030. Payments can be submitted online, in person, or by mail. Once renewed, the permit is valid through June 30, 2027.
First-Time Applicants
New rental permits must be obtained online before renting a dwelling unit.
