24-Hour Water Use Closure for Invasive Plant Control
As part of a comprehensive lake management program, Lake Holland and Lake Arcadia will be treated with the aquatic herbicide Sonar (fluridone) on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, to control non-native and invasive fanwort and milfoil. Following the treatment, the lakes will be closed to all water uses – including boating, fishing, and swimming – for a 24-hour period.
Lake Metacomet Survey & Possible Spot Treatment
A survey will also be conducted on Lake Metacomet, with spot treatment if necessary. If treatment is applied, Lake Metacomet will also be closed to all water uses for 24 hours. Applicable water use restrictions will be posted with signs around the shoreline prior to any application.
