Join the Yiddish Book Center for a special online course, Cultural Resistance in the Warsaw Ghetto: The Legacy of Rokhl Auerbach and Emanuel Ringelblum, taught by renowned historian Samuel Kassow. This four-session course explores the cultural and spiritual life of the Warsaw Ghetto through wartime writings and memoirs, including Emanuel Ringelblum’s Oyneg Shabes archive and Rokhl Auerbach’s Warsaw Testament.

Course Details:

  • Dates: Tuesdays, March 18, 25, April 1, and 8, 2025.
  • Time: 7:00–8:30 PM ET.
  • Format: Live on Zoom (recordings available for registrants).

Samuel Kassow is the Charles H. Northam Professor of History at Trinity College and a leading scholar on Jewish history, particularly the Holocaust and the Warsaw Ghetto. His acclaimed book, Who Will Write Our History?, has been translated into eight languages and inspired a documentary film. A child of Holocaust survivors, Kassow brings profound insight and expertise to this course.
