The Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum (130 River Dr, Hadley) invites K-12 educators to apply for its free Teaching Local History: Diverse Stories institute, now with a deadline extended to April 15, 2026. This week-long program (July 7–11, 2025) equips teachers with resources to explore Connecticut River Valley history through:
- Primary sources from the museum’s collections
- Expert-led sessions on enslavement, Indigenous land stewardship, and Revolutionary War-era stories
- Classroom material development with PDPs and implementation grants available
