Teaching Local History Institute – Deadline Extended to April 15

The Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum (130 River Dr, Hadley) invites K-12 educators to apply for its free Teaching Local History: Diverse Stories institute, now with a deadline extended to April 15, 2026. This week-long program (July 7–11, 2025) equips teachers with resources to explore Connecticut River Valley history through:

  • Primary sources from the museum’s collections
  • Expert-led sessions on enslavement, Indigenous land stewardship, and Revolutionary War-era stories
  • Classroom material development with PDPs and implementation grants available

Why Apply?
A rare opportunity to deepen local history curricula amid nationwide humanities funding cuts.
