The Associates of the Boston Public Library invites emerging New England writers to apply for its Illustrated Children’s Book Fellowship, a year-long program supporting the creation of original books for children ages 0–10. The fellowship includes:
- A $25,000 stipend + $2,500 for editorial/coaching support
- Archival preservation of the completed manuscript in the Boston Public Library
- Networking opportunities with the library’s Writer-in-Residence and other authors
Eligibility:
- Writers of fiction, nonfiction, memoir, or poetry for ages 0–2 (board books), 3–8 (picture books), or 8–10 (chapter books)
- No prior published children’s books
- Must reside in New England and be a U.S. citizen or green card holder
