A special program honoring composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and scholar W. E. B. Du Bois will take place on October 9, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bezanson Recital Hall, Bromery Center for the Arts – East Wing. The event celebrates the friendship and shared ideals of Coleridge-Taylor and Du Bois, highlighting their belief in the power of art to advance racial justice.
The evening includes a live performance of Coleridge-Taylor’s Quintet for Clarinet and Strings and a group reading of The Immortal Child, Du Bois’s 1920 tribute to Coleridge-Taylor from his book Darkwater.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. The program will not be recorded or streamed.
