Volunteer Paddle to Celebrate Pride & Protect Local Waterways
The Connecticut River Conservancy and The Venture Out Project will host a Pride Paddle & Pull on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Lake Warner in Hadley. Volunteers will paddle together to remove invasive water chestnut, a harmful aquatic species that can decimate ecosystems. After the pull, join for pizza and cider at Carr’s Cider House (5:30-7:00 PM). The event is free and celebrates Pride Month.
Registration Required – Bring Your Own Kayak/Canoe or Borrow Limited Equipment
Pre-registration is required; minimum age is 13. Bring your own canoe/kayak and PFD if possible. Limited foldable kayaks and canoes with paddles and PFDs are available on a first-come, first-served basis (max height 6’2″, max weight 250 lbs). On-land support roles are also available. Meeting, parking, and launch locations will be emailed to registered participants 24 hours prior.
