Belchertown residents can pick up free winter sand this season at the Department of Public Works yard, 290 Jackson Street, in the “Green Shed.” The sand is available for residents only and is intended to help improve traction and safety on icy walkways and driveways. Residents must bring their own bucket, container, and shovel and follow all posted guidelines at the site.
This winter sand program is part of the town’s regular winter safety efforts to support residents in managing snow and ice on their properties.
