Odyssey Bookshop will host an author talk with Jill Margaret Shulman on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 7 PM. Shulman will present her new book, College Essay Confidence, which focuses on the college application personal essay. The event will take place at Odyssey Bookshop in South Hadley. The program is open to students, parents, and others interested in the college admissions process.
College Essay Confidence discusses writing strategies for personal statements and includes methods intended to help students reduce stress related to essay writing. Jill Margaret Shulman is a college admissions coach and the author of College Essay Confidence and College Admissions Cracked. She is the founder of In Other Words, a college essay coaching service, and has taught writing at The New School, City University of New York, and New York University.
