The Amherst Police Department recognizes National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week (April 12-18, 2026) and thanks all emergency dispatchers for their work. The Amherst Emergency Communications Center handles over 60,000 business calls and answers more than 11,000 emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS annually.
