We welcome you to a special gathering in the new Ancestral Bridges space.
At the first public event in this new community space, elders from Ancestral Bridges and students from Amherst College’s “American Literature in Conversation” course will share the stories and multimedia projects that have emerged this spring.
Please join us to hear oral histories that arose from students’ conversations with community elders, witness intergenerational storytelling about the Black and Afro-Indigenous community of Amherst (and beyond), and enjoy good food, music, and conversation throughout the space. Bring your curiosity and make connections!
Wednesday, May 7 from 4:30 to 6:00 PM
Ancestral Bridges (new community space!), 29A Cottage Street, Amherst
This event is free and open to the public.
This course was supported by the Serving the Greater Good curricular initiative and the Center for Community Engagement at Amherst College.
