The Town of Amherst will suspend parking fees in all metered spaces and public parking lots in downtown Amherst on Saturdays November 29, 2025 and December 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2025. Parking in these areas will be free on those dates, but posted time limits will still apply.
This temporary change supports residents, employees, and visitors during the 2025 holiday shopping season and helps more people access downtown businesses and services.
In addition to these Saturdays, parking in downtown Amherst is also free on Sundays, on Thanksgiving Day, and on Christmas Day each year, with the same time limits in place.
