The Amherst Department of Public Works will conduct roadway reconstruction and paving on Pomeroy Lane, College Street, and West Bay Road between Friday, September 19, and Friday, September 26, 2025. Work will take place daily from 6 AM to 5 PM.
- Friday, Sept 19 & Monday, Sept 22: Pomeroy Lane closed for reclaiming operations. Buses and residents will be accommodated.
- Tuesday, Sept 23 & Wednesday, Sept 24: College Street under construction. Westbound traffic detoured via Main Street. Eastbound traffic accommodated.
- Thursday, Sept 25 & Friday, Sept 26: West Bay Road closed between South Maple Street and Moody Bridge/West Pomeroy Lane for reclaiming operations. Detour along South Maple Street to Moody Bridge Road into Amherst. This closure will affect traffic in and out of Hadley.
- Friday, Sept 26: First coat of asphalt placed on Pomeroy Lane. Roadway closed to through traffic during paving.
Drivers should expect delays, seek alternate routes, and follow detour signs. On-street parking is prohibited in construction areas, and vehicles may be towed. Work schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.
