The Hitchcock Center for the Environment will host a volunteer information and training session for the “Big Migration” on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The session will cover the natural history of yellow-spotted salamanders, the history of the Henry Street amphibian tunnels (the first in North America), and how volunteers can assist salamanders crossing the road on the first rainy spring nights. The event is in person at the Hitchcock Center, 845 West Street, Amherst. Registration is required to attend.
