Shutesbury New Free Transportation Service for Seniors

The Shutesbury Council on Aging (COA) supports residents aged 55+ with resources, programs, and advocacy. Monthly meetings are held via Zoom on the second Wednesday of each month (5:30–7:00 PM)—all are welcome.

New Free Ride Service (Through June 2025)

The Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) now offers curb-to-curb Demand Response rides for Shutesbury residents:

  • Who: Seniors (60+)
  • Hours:
    • Weekdays: 5:30 AM – 7:30 PM
    • Weekends: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Booking: Call 413-774-2262 ext. 0 (Mon–Fri, 8 AM–4 PM). Same-day/next-day rides available, but advance notice is encouraged.
  • Cost: Free through June 2025 (state-funded).
  • Accessibility: Wheelchair-accessible vehicles; companions allowed (same fare applies).

Note: Drivers assist boarding/disembarking but cannot help with groceries or entering buildings.
