Federal SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits will not be issued for November 2025 due to the federal government shutdown, effective Saturday, November 1. This affects over one million Massachusetts residents, including 277,000 school-aged children.
The benefits will not resume until the federal shutdown ends. Alternative food assistance is available through other programs.
For immediate food assistance, contact Project Bread’s FoodSource Hotline at 1-800-645-8333 or visit ProjectBread.org foodsource hotline. Counselors can connect individuals with local food pantries and the WIC program.
