Free Public Presentation with UMass Professor Kostas Andreadis – Town Hall Auditorium
The Belchertown Conservation Commission hosts a free public presentation, “Understanding Drought and Water Supplies,” on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the Town Hall Auditorium. Professor Konstantinos (Kostas) Andreadis of UMass Amherst will explain how drought develops, why it’s become more frequent, and its effects on wells and public water systems, including why the region remains in a Stage 2 drought despite recent heavy rain. Free and open to all.
