The Sixth Annual Fire & Ice Festival + Luminaria will take place in Downtown Amherst on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 3–6 PM. The free, family-friendly event is the culminating program of Amherst’s week-long WinterFest 2026 and is organized by Amherst Recreation and the Amherst BID, presented by Amherst College. Attendees can expect ice sculptures, fire performances, and live demonstrations, including ice sculptures by Joe Almeida, fire juggling by Matica Arts, metal sculpting by Kamil Peters, and wood carving by Cody Stosz (Kodiak Carving). Hot cocoa and s’mores will be available near fire pits, with hot cocoa for sale at the Inn on Boltwood, and Amherst Recreation will offer winter tie-dye activities. The Amherst Fire Department will attend with a firetruck, and Sparky the Fire Pup will be on site.
More details are expected to be announced closer to the event. Check for updates from Amherst Recreation and the Amherst BID, and plan ahead if you are visiting Downtown Amherst during the 3–6 PM event window.
