Music in the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Family, 1767-1837 – Free Talk with Musical Examples
The Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum presents a talk by musicologist Poe M. Allphin titled “Psalms, Strings, and Songs: Music in the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Family, 1767-1837” on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Corn Barn at 130 River Drive (Route 47), Hadley. Allphin will explore Connecticut River Valley music and girlhood through diaries, letters, and music books from the family papers. Musical examples will be provided in collaboration with Tim Eriksen. Free and open to the public.
