Local Author Jonathan Moldover on Landscape History

The Hadley Historical Society will host a talk by local author Jonathan Moldover on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Hadley Public Library, 50 Middle Street. Moldover will discuss his book, The Oxbow Since Thomas Cole: The Story of a Landscape, a Painting and a Community. The program covers the history of the Connecticut River Oxbow following the famous 1837 Thomas Cole painting, including the 1840 flood and ice jam that carved a new channel, shifting land from Hadley to Northampton, and the logging and sawmill industries from 1872 to 1915.
