The Amherst Public Health Department invites community members to complete a survey on how to allocate the town’s $424,000 in opioid settlement funds. The anonymous survey gathers input on prevention, treatment, and recovery needs, prioritizing voices of those directly affected by the opioid crisis. Funds stem from 2021 state settlements with opioid manufacturers.
How to Participate:
- Online: Complete the survey at amherstma.gov/opioid-settlement-funds-survey by September 30.
- In Person: Pick up/drop off paper surveys at the Bangs Community Center (70 Boltwood Walk, weekdays 9 AM–4 PM).
Why It Matters:
“These funds must address the needs of those most impacted,” said Public Health Director Kiko Malin. Future forums may be held—email publichealth[at]amherstma.gov or call 413-259-3077 to stay involved.
