New trash and recycling rules take effect July 1, 2025, in South Hadley:
- Town-issued carts (1 trash, 1 recycling per household) will be delivered in June 2025.
- Trash: No green bags required—use any bag inside the town trash cart (lid must close).
- Recycling: Switch to single-stream (mix paper, cardboard, bottles, cans, glass in the orange-lid cart).
- No overflow items collected outside carts—hold extras for next pickup or use the Recycle Center (Tues–Sat, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM).
Current rules (until June 30): Green bags for trash, dual-stream recycling (separate paper/cardboard & bottles/cans).
