The Town of Amherst will mark the 100-year anniversary of honoring Black History with a public event at Town Hall on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The program will begin at 5:00 PM with the unveiling of the DEI Department’s display recognizing the centennial of Black History observance. At 6:00 PM, the Town Council proclamation for Black History Month will be read, followed by a flag raising ceremony. The event is open to community members and visitors.
For those unable to attend on February 2, the DEI Department’s exhibit will be available for public viewing at Town Hall from Tuesday, February 3, 2026, through Friday, February 27, 2026.
