Eve M. Kahn will present a virtual book talk on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom, discussing her new book, Queen of Bohemia Predicts Own Death: Gilded-Age Journalist Zoe Anderson Norris. The talk is hosted by the Yiddish Book Center.
The program focuses on the life and work of Zoe Anderson Norris, a journalist and publisher active in New York City during the early twentieth century. Kahn will examine Norris’s reporting on Yiddish-speaking immigrants, including her documentation of immigrant poverty, working conditions, and life in steerage and industrial workplaces. Norris published this work in her magazine, The East Side, and was known for undercover reporting and advocacy journalism. She also founded the Ragged Edge Klub, a social club for writers, artists, and reformers.
This event is open to the public and will be held online, allowing participants to attend remotely.
