Author Ilan Stavans will discuss the newly released paperback edition of his detective graphic novel, El Iluminado: A Mystery of Santa Fe, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The event will be held in person at the Yiddish Book Center (1021 West Street, Amherst) and online via Zoom. The novel connects a Santa Fe murder with a lost manuscript by a 16th-century Crypto-Jew. Stavans will also discuss real-life events following the original publication, including the discovery of Luis de Carvajal’s long-lost memoir.
