Free Community Event – Live Music, Aerialists, Acrobats & Street Performers
The Amherst Business Improvement District presents the 13th Annual Block Party on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on North Pleasant Street in Downtown Amherst. The free event features live music, aerialists, acrobats, stilt walkers, jugglers, and street performers. Local restaurants and retailers will line both sides of the street. Presented in partnership with the Town of Amherst, Amherst Cultural Council, Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce, Amherst College, and UMass Amherst.
Business Participation – Apply by July 31
Businesses and organizations interested in participating must apply by Friday, July 31. Priority given to downtown businesses and arts/cultural organizations. For-profit businesses outside the BID district pay a $300 booth fee. Space is limited.
Parking & Road Closures
Parking available at Boltwood Garage, Amity Street Lot, and other lots, plus free parking at Amherst-Pelham Regional High School. North Pleasant Street will be closed from Amity/Main intersection to Hallock/East Pleasant Street from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. On-street parking prohibited; limited access from 12:00 PM, fully restricted by 3:00 PM.
