Free Event – Film Screenings, Guided Tours & Living History
J.A. Skinner State Park in Hadley hosts a free weekend celebration for the 175th anniversary of the J.A. Skinner Summit House and the 50th anniversary of the documentary that saved it from demolition on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Activities include screenings of The Film That Saved the Summit House by Gwendolyn Clancy at 9:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 3:00 PM (followed by Q&A), guided tours at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and a living history presentation “Stories from Fannie” at 1:30 PM. Admission is free for ages 12 and up. Free parking at the base of Mount Holyoke; parking fees apply at Halfway House and summit.
