The Amherst Public Works Department will conduct its annual water main flushing program from May 13 to June 5, 2025 (weather permitting), 4:00 PM–9:00 PM, Tuesday through Thursday each week. The work will proceed in four phases:
- First Phase (May 13–15): Pelham, northern Echo Hill, Allen Mill Road, Jenks/Ward/Thayer Streets, South East Street near Fort River School, Main Street (north of College Street), and areas west of North/South Pleasant Streets (including UMass campus).
- Subsequent Phases: Cushman area, East/North Pleasant Streets, South Amherst (Crocker Farm area), and Belchertown Road.
Residents may experience temporary water discoloration or low pressure. Run cold water for 5–10 minutes to clear.
