The Amherst Human Rights Commission (HRC) is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Human Rights Youth Hero Awards. These awards honor local youth who show kindness, social courage, and dedication to their communities. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 23, 2025.
Eligible nominees must either live in Amherst or attend an Amherst public school. The HRC welcomes nominations for individuals and youth groups who, over the past year, demonstrated care, mutual respect, or community service. Past recipients from the last three years are not eligible.
The HRC will recognize awardees during the Race Amity Day & Youth Hero Awards Celebration on Sunday, June 8, from 11 AM to 3 PM at Mill River Recreation Area, 95 Montague Rd, Amherst.
