The Black Business Association of Amherst Area (BBAAA) and Sankofa Gumbo invite the community to the 16th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5–9 PM at St. Brigid’s Church, 43 North Prospect Street, Amherst. Doors open at 4:30 PM.
This free, family-friendly event features:

- Youth excellence award
- Keynote speaker
- Local author book signings
- Cultural cuisine by Henryne Catering and African Bowl
Dr. Amilcar Shabazz, founder of Sankofa Gumbo, calls the evening a “power boost to the soul,” marking the day in 1865 when freedom reached enslaved people in Texas.
