The Jones Library Kids Room, in partnership with Amherst Recreation, will host an outdoor Winter Solstice Storytime on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Kendrick Park on East Pleasant Street in Amherst. The program is open to children of all ages and their caregivers.
The event will include shared stories focused on themes of darkness and light, followed by an outdoor dance activity marking the return of longer daylight after the solstice. Seating will be available on the ground with floor seats and rugs provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and warm clothing, as the program will take place outdoors.
