On Saturday, March 14, from 1 to 4 p.m., Provisions at The Mill District in North Amherst is hosting their second annual Cheese Fest  (65 Cowls Road), and if you’ve ever had a strong opinion about a good cheddar or wondered what fondue tastes like when it’s made with actual care, this is your moment.

What You’re Getting Into

This isn’t a farmers market with cheese vendors. This is a three-hour immersion in the kind of food experience that makes you understand why people get passionate about fermented milk.

You’ll find cheese and wine pairings (and beer pairings, if that’s your preference), cheese-flavored snacks that go beyond the obvious, and a full fondue setup.

If cheese is not your thing, come have some cake. Herrell’s Ice Cream is showing up with a limited sampling of cheesecake and cannoli flavors.

If you know Herrell’s, you know they don’t do anything halfway.

The Practical Details

When: Saturday, March 14, 2026, 1 to 4 p.m.

If you’re the kind of person who thinks about food, who has opinions about cheese, who gets excited about trying something new, or who just wants to spend an afternoon in a room full of people who care about eating well, this is the event. Bring a friend. Bring someone who thinks they don’t like cheese. Bring someone who’s been meaning to explore The Mill District. Bring yourself.

The second annual Provisions Cheese Fest is happening in two weeks. Mark your calendar, and then tell someone else about it.
