Renovations are underway at the Bangs Community Center at 70 Boltwood Walk. The project includes health and safety upgrades such as a new sprinkler system, electrical and HVAC improvements, and full ADA accessibility. The building will remain open during construction, though certain sections will be temporarily closed. The project is funded by $2.8 million in federal ARPA funds and is expected to be complete in early 2027.
Construction Schedule:
- Now through early March 2026: Work on lower/basement level.
- Late March to mid-June 2026: 2nd floor renovations; DEI and CRESS departments will temporarily relocate to the lower level.
- Through November 2026: 1st floor renovations, including Senior Center and Public Health Department.
- Through January 2027: Large activity room renovations.
