The UMass Department of Economics will host the annual Philip Gamble Memorial Lecture featuring Nobel Prize-winning economist David Card on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 5:00-6:30 PM in Bowker Auditorium (Stockbridge Hall). The event is free and open to the public, with livestream available.
Card, recipient of the 2021 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, will present “Understanding Minimum Wage and Immigration Policies: Cause and Effect and Evidence-Based Approaches.” His groundbreaking research has transformed the understanding of labor economics and inequality.
