Join the Sunderland Public Library (20 School Street, Sunderland) on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 2–3 PM for a special storytime with author and naturalist Britt Crow-Miller. She’ll read from her newest picture book, World of Rot: Learn All about the Wriggly, Slimy, Super-Cool Decomposers We Couldn’t Live Without, followed by a hands-on STEM activity for kids.
Britt’s book explores the world of decomposition with humor, colorful illustrations, and fascinating facts about fungi, worms, slugs, and more. Kids will discover how these everyday heroes help recycle life and even fight climate change.
Crow-Miller teaches Environmental Conservation and Geosciences at UMass Amherst and directs the Sustainability Science graduate program. She’s also the founder of CityWild, a nonprofit inspiring nature-based learning for children and families.
