Easy-to-Learn Community Folk Dance – Beginners Welcome
The Amherst Contra Dance will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Pacific Masonic Lodge, 99 Main Street, Amherst. An introductory lesson begins at 7:00 PM, followed by social dancing from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The dance features live folk music by Eileen Kalfass (fiddle) and Larry Unger (banjo/guitar), with calling and teaching by Hannah Chamberlain.
$15 Admission – No Tickets Required
Admission is $15 (discounts available), payable at the door by cash, check, or Venmo. No tickets needed. Contra dancing is easy to learn, beginner-friendly, and open to all ages. The nonprofit dance is funded in part by a grant from the Amherst Cultural Council, supported by Mass Cultural Council.
