A virtual panel discussion titled “Being LGBTQIA+ and Religious: A Conversation with Welcoming and Affirming Spiritual Leaders” will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm via Zoom. The event brings together clergy and faith leaders from multiple religious traditions to discuss the intersection of LGBTQIA+ identity and religious life.
The panel includes Rev. Sarah Buteux of First Churches of Northampton; Rev. David Calhoun of Trinity United Methodist Church in Springfield; Rev. Rachael Hayes of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Amherst; Rabbi Riqi Kosovske of Beit Ahavah Reform Synagogue in Florence; Tynan Power of Pioneer Valley Progressive Muslims; and Pastor Jeffrey Schulz of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amherst. The discussion is open to all and is intended for community members interested in inclusive faith perspectives.
The event is sponsored by PFLAG Franklin-Hampshire, the Stonewall Center, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst Office of Religious and Spiritual Life.
