The Springfield Parks Department will host its annual Fabulous February winter carnival at Forest Park during February school vacation week on Monday, February 16, 2026 and Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Activities take place primarily at the ECOS Center in Forest Park, with additional events at Cyr Arena and the Moriarty Senior Center. The free program includes nature crafts, a wilderness adventure program for ages 7–15, ice sculpting, face painting, carriage rides, magic shows, exotic animal demonstrations, bird feeder building, public skating, and other family activities. The vehicle entrance fee to Forest Park will be waived during the event. Pre-registration is required for the Wilderness Adventure program. In the event of rain or snow, Monday’s schedule will be moved to Tuesday. The event is open to families and visitors of all ages and is designed to provide accessible winter recreation during school break.
Fabulous February is a long-running Springfield tradition that began nearly 50 years ago and continues to bring residents together for free seasonal programming in one of the city’s historic parks. The event is supported by the Springfield Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management Department and community partners.
