The Yiddish Book Center will host a screening of the documentary “Eva’s Promise” on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at its location (1021 West St, Amherst). The 57-minute film tells the story of Heinz Geiringer, a young artist and poet in hiding during the Holocaust, and his sister Eva’s quest to fulfill a promise to recover his work.
The film explores this story, which exists alongside the legacy of Anne Frank, as Eva’s mother later married Anne’s father. The event is co-sponsored by the Springfield JCC and Pioneer Valley Jewish Film Festival.
