In honor of the International Trans Day of Visibility, a free screening of the film Heightened Scrutiny will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026. A reception begins at 6:30 PM, followed by the film at 7:00 PM in Furcolo Hall 125. The documentary follows ACLU attorney Chase Strangio, the first out trans person to argue before the Supreme Court, in United States v. Skrmetti. Director Sam Feder will participate in a post-film Q&A. The event is sponsored by the UMass Stonewall Center, Office of Equity & Inclusion, College of Engineering, and Smith College Resource Center for Sexuality & Gender.
